.

The Wolf Mountain Nature Center is a not-for-profit (501C3) outdoor education center and we currently have 8 Timber wolves living in several spacious, forested USDA and DEC approved enclosure. We provide public education about wolves, arctic fox, alternative energy and the environment.

Come and learn about the true nature of the wolf  and its relationship with the eco-system, Earth, Water, Forests, and Creatures of all kinds. Located in the big beautiful rolling hills of Chenango County, this is where people and nature come together in a unique setting to hear the ancient song of the wolf.
*The public is not allowed to have any physical contact with the wolves and proper barriers are in place for the safety of the animals and the public.

Help the Wolf Mountain Nature Center by using www.goodsearch.com, enter the wolf mountain nature center as the charity you do "good search" for. The center receives 1 cent for every search click. Also please use the shopping part of good search, especially if you use EBAY.

Who are we at The Wolf Mountain Nature Center? We are a small group of teachers, biologists, carpenters, police officers, college students, care givers, and outdoor enthusiasts that love working with wildlife and doing various jobs around the Center. No one is paid and everyone is a volunteer. Are you interested in volunteering at the Center? Much of the work is physical outside work such as chain link fencing, hauling brush, mowing grass, carpentry, giving tours, assisting with school groups or helping in the gift shop. We currently need signs and bulletin board/display help! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Wolf Mountain, contact us at 607-627-6784.

Hiking trail will remain open all year for people wanting to hike up and is located about 300 feet below our main entrance gate. It is a beautiful scenic trail winding through groves of Norway Spruce and native hardwoods. The trek should take around 15-20 minutes to reach the top and offers this option to those who enjoy walking.

Nakoa and Tala winter 2010, loving life at 28 degrees below zero. We have a small log cabin lean-to that we built from pine logs on our property but the wolves almost never go inside except during "hide and seek games" or if the black flies or deer flies are many, they may go inside some. Both Turtle and Tashina do sometimes like to hide inside waiting to ponce on the first wolf that walks by usually Nakoa.

Come see the young wolves with the main pack today!

Admission is free but we greatly appreciate donations to help feed and maintain the animals.

Remember wolves in the wild are in need of our support as well. Learn more about the corporate sponsored wolf hunts in the west.

In the picture below, see our wolves enjoying fresh legally obtained road killed deer.

The wolves have surf and turf often!

The wolves are fed whole fish - brown, brook, rainbow and tiger trout thanks
