Sponsor residents of The Wolf Mountain Nature Center!
As wolf populations decrease an alarming rate, it is crucial that people who care about our wildlife, ecosystems, and environment speak up to protect and save our planet. Wolves in the wild need more advocates speaking up for wolf protection. Larger tracts of suitable land need to be set aside for wolves, better educational programs need to be put in place to objectively work with farmers, ranchers, and the public about balancing the needs of humans and wolves and their crucial role in a balanced ecosystem. With climate changes (yes, it's real!) and human populations exploding, many wild species, both fauna and flora, are losing their natural habitats. We must find solutions to allow both species to survive.
Combining this paradox with the increased demand for natural resources, we ask the question, where will our ancient brothers and sisters, the wolf (and many other wildlife species), be able to live out their lives and raise their young relatively free from the historical and unethical persecution that is a human legacy? Who will speak for the wolf? Teachers, educators, parents, and public officials need to be addressing these legitimate concerns. One of our goals here at The Wolf Mountain Nature Center is to raise public awareness of the wolf with emphasis on wolves living in the wild. Additionally, our trained volunteer educators share knowledge in presenting factual, science based information about the origin, history (particularly in native America), and social structure of the wolf. Your sponsorship monies go towards program development, but more importantly, it goes towards caring for our animals. Our animals require a good amount of food, veterinary care, enrichment activities, and safe living space; all of which are supported by your admission fees, donations, and sponsorship! As a sponsor you are making a difference in the life of the animals here at the Center. By becoming more aware of the wolf and the needs of this species, you are giving back to Mother Earth just a little bit of what has been taken.
One person at a time we can make a substantial difference.
We encourage sponsors to arrange a visit and meet their sponsored animal. Physical contact with pure wolves is not allowed in many states, including New York State, however sponsors can greet the animals from a distance of just 4 feet and are encouraged to take photographs and videos.
You may sponsor any of our animals. See photos and descriptions of each animal on the "our animals" page.
